St. Laurence O’Toole’s Primary School Belleeks

Our School

Groarty Integrated Primary School is situated on the Coshquin Road on the outskirts of Derry/Londonderry. The school has been a part of the local community for the past 150 years and will be celebrating its anniversary in April 2015. The school attained Integrated status in 2006 and is the only school with Integrated status on the West Bank of the city. We welcome and value children from all faiths and none, and we promote tolerance and respect for diversity in all its forms.

The school currently has three composite classes (p1/2/3, p4/5 and p6/7) of thirteen pupils or less. This enables us to focus on individual and small group learning to meet the needs of pupils working in line with or above expected age-related attainment as well as those who require additional support to move towards expected age-related attainment.

We provide a broad and balanced curriculum in a small, caring, nurturing environment. We respond to the varying learning styles of pupils and we believe that learning is most effective and motivating  when it has an experiential dimension.

Our school ethos is summed up by our motto, 'Living, Learning, Growing Together.' We believe that our school community truly 'live out' this motto. Come along and see if you agree!
